The following video is a montage of images captured during our performance of Some things happen all at once in Centro Torrente Ballester, Ferrol, Galicia in 2009.
The text you can hear is a fragment from that performance, and draws on Buckminster Fuller’s article Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth (1969) and Philip Ball’s writings on social physics – specifically from his book Critical Mass: How One Thing Leads to Another (2004). This text was written to be spoken, and to be experienced aurally, within the social space evoked and sustained by the model ice forest at the centre of the work, and its inevitable decay.
