{"id":175,"date":"2023-11-04T18:09:00","date_gmt":"2023-11-04T18:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rosacasado.com\/projects\/?p=175"},"modified":"2024-07-04T21:31:45","modified_gmt":"2024-07-04T21:31:45","slug":"nosotros-pusimos-los-muertos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rosacasado.com\/projects\/nosotros-pusimos-los-muertos\/","title":{"rendered":"Nosotros pusimos los muertos&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Commissioned to perform the initial work from our developing <em>What if everything we know is wrong?<\/em> project, Mike and I stepped into a large empty room in <strong>Artium<\/strong> \u2013 the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Basque Country in Vitoria-Gasteiz \u2013 carrying a bag of pocket dictaphones, a small roll of tape, a black marker pen, and four polaroid photographs. This time we re-titled the event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> NOSOTROS PUSIMOS LOS MUERTOS Y ELLOS DISFRUTAN DEL CUADRO&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A quote taken from the writings of painter Antonio Saura (which translates roughly as:&nbsp;<em>We provided the dead and they enjoy the painting<\/em>). Ultimately using the place built by the work as a context to introduce a recorded reading of Saura\u2019s polemic text <em>Contra el Guernica<\/em> (<em>Against the Guernica<\/em>), written in response to the arrival of Picasso\u2019s <em>Guernica<\/em> in Spain in 1981.
